Who We Are
Newson Consultancy is an academic hub, fusing project based teams to deliver world class research and expert comment. We are committed to research that elucidates our social connections, cohesion, and feelings of belonging. Together we tackle questions around the societal burdens left in the wake of disconnected families, neighbourhoods and societies. We help major organisations make sense of our modern tribes, to create a better world for us all.
You can expect world-class, cutting edge University-level research with market-level, swift timelines. Led by Dr Martha Newson, we are anthropologists, psychologists, engineers, criminologists, behavioural economists and biologists from universities all over the world. Martha is a cognitive anthropologist and chartered psychologist who obtained her PhD and MSc in Cognitive and Evolutionary Anthropology from the University of Oxford and her BSc in Human Sciences from the University of Sussex, UK. Martha has been awarded over £1m in research funding, including a prestigious Future Leaders Fellowship, in the last decade. Her academic projects include ongoing work with the Ministry of Justice and Premier League football clubs. She regularly contributes to the BBC, as well as Sky and National Geographic.
Global, expert teams
Hand picked teams of academics and practitioners from universities across the globe, selected for their expertise in methods or themes for each project. If we don’t have the right expert already on our books, we will find them. Our teams are anthropologists, psychologists, engineers, biologists, criminologists, sports scientists and more.
